Abstract
In this paper a novel method based on particle swarms for the Pareto-optimal approach of a bi-objective optimization problem, the Next Release problem (NRP), is presented. The problem is defined in its mono and bi-objective versions, presenting a representation with Integer Linear Programming. The method uses Fuzzy Sets theory to compose an abstract fitness function, which is specialized by different particles to perform the search in different places of the front. A proof of concept is carried out, applying the method to an instance of the bi-objective NRP problem and comparing it with another metaheuristic of the state of the art. Finally, it is concluded by highlighting the most important results.
