Abstract
Results of the energy audit carried out at the Resistencia Campus of the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste are presented. The objective was to study the energy consumption of buildings and define recommendations to make it more efficient. The methodology proposed by the Chilean Energy Efficiency Agency for higher education buildings was adopted, which includes three phases: data collection, energy accounting and identification of measures to improve efficiency. From the first phase, it turns out that 55 % of the energy consumed is used for air conditioning and that 43 % of the energy is consumed in the classrooms, this type of enclosure being the one with the highest incidence in total consumption. From the second phase, it is obtained that the average monthly consumption of each Faculty amounts to 29,000 kW·h/month, with peak power reaching 80 kW and a baseline of around 10 kW.
