Formulación de films de caseína compuestos con tetracaína clorhidrato para su uso como potencial sistema anestésico local en odontología.

Abstract
En el presente estudio se planteó sintetizar un film que tenga incorporado tetracaína clorhidrato como compuesto activo dado que éste es ampliamente utilizado en medicina por su propiedad anestésica. En las formulaciones planteadas se utilizó un polímero natural, la caseína y, además, se agregaron compuestos como glicerol y alginato de potasio con objeto de modificar determinadas propiedades mecánicas y físicas. De esta forma, se realizaron diversas experiencias variando las cantidades de cada componente hasta encontrar el film que posee las características buscadas. El film denominado TC3 fue aquel cuyos rasgos eran aceptables, por lo que fue sometido a una serie de ensayos para caracterizarlo. Entre los ensayos realizados se encuentran la determinación del espesor, contenido de humedad, material soluble total y sólidos insolubles. Los resultados obtenidos fueron muy valiosos para continuar el estudio del sistema con objeto de que tenga un uso potencial como anestésico local en odontología
In the present study, it was proposed to synthesize a film that incorporates tetracaine hydrochloride as an active compound, since it is widely used in medicine for its anesthetic property. In the proposed formulations was used a natural polymer, casein, and in addition, compounds such as glycerol and potassium alginate were added in order to modify certain mechanical and physical properties. In this way, various experiments were carried out, varying the amounts of each component until the film reached the desired characteristics. The film TC3 was acceptable, so it was subjected to a series of tests to characterize it. Among the tests carried out are the determination of thickness, moisture content, total soluble material and insoluble solid. From the results obtained, we can conclude that the formulation of the developed film could have a potential use as a local anesthetic in odontology
