Abstract
The National Technological University (UTN) has been historically conceived within the territory as a response to a social need. It has a direct impact on its context. It is innovative to install gender issues as an object of research in the academy, therefore gender protocols are part of the academic agendas and it is the task of university present to facilitate their implementation through activities. I lead a project promoted by the Ministry of Education: PID-UTNBA TEUTIBA0007774TC “Engineer training: from a Gender Perspective. Analysis of the social and ethical impact generated by this approach within the framework of the university's social commitment” (2020-2021). General objectives: promulgate the progress of the UTN, BA in terms of Gender Perspective, highlight the transformative actions carried out by the Social Commitment Area- Gender Unit. From the subject “Engineering and Society” mandatory gender content is being incorporated. The starting point is the frame provided by official documents such as Micaela Law, UTN, BA Gender protocols, founding documents, CONFED Red Book and others. To ensure that students can contribute to the production of scientific-technological knowledge, valuing socio-ethical engineering skills (CONFED-I2018) and implement the necessary and sufficient means for the development of skills and competencies related to professional practice based on critical and interdisciplinary views that apply solutions to regional-local community specific problems.Inquire the symbols and representations that influence the association of "the masculine" with engineering and analyze the causes of why women choose these careers. The research looks for reasons that act as a "barrier" for a larger participation of women in this field of knowledge. Preliminary findings appear in the full presentation.
