Abstract
The present work establishes the conditions for atomization of chitosan-gallic acid-sorbitol formulations on paper surfaces, considering the distance of atomization, the opening of the atomization peak, and the dilution of the formulation. The results revealed that the distribution of atomized particles of the formulation becomes more uniform as the distance increases. On the other hand, a similar trend was achieved by increasing the opening of the atomizer, covering as much of the surface as possible in a single application. Regarding the dilution results, it is evident that the 0.4 and 0.5 dilutions presented the best values in terms of coverage percentage. Finally, the antioxidant capacity of the atomized surfaces was analyzed by means of the DPPH radical assay, to determine the % inhibition compared to a pristine paper surface, obtaining a % inhibition of between 15-20% for the least diluted mixtures.
