Abstract
La gran proliferación de las tecnologías de comunicación inalámbrica en las últimas décadas ha devenido en la instalación de todo tipo de antenas transmisoras, como así también, en el control de éstas por parte del estado. En este documento se presentan, el método empleado y los resultados obtenidos de la medición de la totalidad de los sitios de telefonía celular instalados en la ciudad de San Francisco. El poder conocer y cuantificar estos valores, da respuesta a la preocupación pública acerca de los posibles efectos nocivos de las radiaciones no ionizantes (RNI) en la salud. Los resultados obtenidos se encuadraron en su totalidad dentro de los valores de referencia límite fijados reglamentariamente, de los cuales el más restrictivo se ubica en 0,2 mW/cm2 de densidad de potencia.
The great proliferation of wireless communication technologies in recent decades has led to the installation of all types of transmitting antennas, as well as their control by the state. This document presents the method used and the results obtained from the measurement of all the cell phone sites installed in the city of San Francisco. Being able to know and quantify these values responds to public concern about the possible harmful effects of non-ionizing radiation (NIR) on health. The results obtained were completely within the limit reference values established by regulation, of which the most restrictive is located at 0.2 mW/cm2 of power density.
