Abstract

The purpose was to understand the alignment between academic training and the emerging demands of Industry 4.0, especially in professional profiles essential for innovative technologies. The methodology included collecting data from advanced students and graduates to understand how they perceive the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution and their preparedness. The adoption of 4.0 technologies in local companies was also assessed, identifying relevant professional roles. The perspective of teachers who teach 4.0 competences was gathered, analysing how they are integrated into the curriculum. The results will inform the adequacy of the Electromechanical Engineering curriculum at the University, in line with CONFEDI guidelines for competence development. The aim is to keep training relevant and up-to-date in the context of the technological transformation of the fourth industrial revolution. Keywords: Electromechanical Engineering - Industry 4.0 - Professional profiles - Innovative technologies - Academic training
