Abstract
This article analyzes the software innovation in a sample of firms in the province of Entre Rios. It is difficult to categorize the software as a product or service in view of its features. Therefore, we are dealing with its characterization as a product, service or project. Accordingly, the traditional methods of innovation measurement (manuals), which were created for industrial products, are difficult to apply to the software sector. In this context, there are two theoretical approaches: the traditional manuals, based on Oslo and Bogotá, and the approach aimed at measuring services also called also called differentiation approach. Both methods were contrasted and different results were obtained for the sample. Consequently, the discussion about how measuring innovation in software projects is still open.
