Abstract
El hormigón drenante presenta un amplio uso en la actualidad, debido a su propiedad de permitir la filtración de agua a través de su estructura de poros y por su adecuada resistencia mecánica. La comprensión de sus propiedades permite diseñar mezclas con un mejor desempeño, por ello, en este artículo se desarrolla un análisis del espesor de la pasta circundante al agregado grueso y se evalúa su correlación con las propiedades mecánicas, porosidad y permeabilidad. Se estudia la distribución de tamaño de los poros internos y se realiza una comparación entre la porosidad medida de forma convencional y por medio de análisis de imágenes. Se verifican métodos elaborados por otros autores para la determinación del espesor de pasta y se desarrollan nuevos procedimientos para el análisis más preciso de la porosidad.
Pervious concrete is widely used today, because it allows water to seep through its pore structure and its proper mechanical strength. The understanding of its properties allows the design of mixtures with better performance, therefore, in this article an analysis of the thickness of the paste surrounding the coarse aggregate is developed and its correlation with mechanical properties, porosity and permeability is evaluated. The size distribution of internal pores is studied and a comparison between the porosity measured conventionally and by image analysis is made. Methods developed by other authors for the determination of paste thickness are verified and new procedures are developed for a more precise porosity analysis.
