Abstract
Renewable energy is featured as a subject of global interest for its ability to replace fossil fuels, reducing greenhouse gases production, but also favoring the energy independence of countries, such as ours, spending heavily on imported fossil fuels. Renewable energy is often expected to bring new sources of work and industrial growth, however, for this to happen there must be trained personnel and industries able to partially or completely supply the value chain. Not all countries can participate in the entire value chain for all renewable energies. Each technology has different requirements, and the intention of this work is to analyze whether there are, within this topic, areas that should be of particular interest to science and technology in Argentina.
