Abstract
dibenzotiofeno (DBT) y 4,6-dimetildibenzotiofeno (4,6-DMDBT).
Iridium catalysts with different supports of SBA-15 modified with zirconium were tested in the HDT of tetralin and the typical sulfur compounds present in the diesel feed. The supports were synthesized by the sol-gel method using two sources of zirconium, zirconium chloride and zirconium (IV) propoxide. Zirconium was incorporated mainly as tetrahedral species of Zr+4 . The NH3-TPD of de catalysts showed greater acidity when tetrahedral Zr+4 species are present. Among the prepared catalysts, the catalyst synthesized using zirconium propoxide and lactic acid showed the highest dispersion and the lowest cluster size. Consequently, this was the most active catalyst for the hydrogenation of tetralin and the HDS of dibenzothiophene (DBT) and 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene (4,6-DMDBT). The presence of Zr+4 had a remarkable effect on the dispersion capacity of the particles of Ir. In addition, the presence of moderate acidity in this material provides the best catalyst for HDS under the conditions studied, which makes this material a Potential catalyst for the reaction of HDT under mild conditions
