Catalizadores nano-estructurados aplicados al proceso foto-Fenton heterogéneo para degradar herbicidas en fase acuosa

Abstract
Se sintetizaron silicatos mesoporosos del tipo SBA-15 y KIT-6 modificados con hierro mediante el
método de impregnación húmeda con diferentes cargas del metal. Las diferentes meso-estructuras
obtenidas se caracterizaron mediante isotermas de adsorción-desorción de N2 a 77 K , TPR y UVvisRD.
Estos materiales mesoporosos estructurados modificados con hierro fueron probados con éxito en
la reacción de degradación de atrazina en agua con el proceso foto-Fenton heterogéneo, utilizando
radiación UV-visible, temperatura ambiente y un pH cercano al neutro. Dependiendo de la dispersión
y el tamaño de las diferentes especies de hierro, los nanocompuestos mostraron diferentes
comportamientos catalíticos. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que los catalizadores Fe/SBA-15(10)
y Fe/KIT-6(5) exhibero las actividades más altas.
Por lo tanto, el alto rendimiento de estos materiales indica que el proceso foto-Fenton heterogéneo
también se puede emplear eficazmente para tratar aguas residuales que contienen contaminantes tales
como herbicidas, con el fin de reducirlos a moléculas más simples y menos tóxicas.
SBA-15 and KIT-6 materials have been synthesized and modified with iron by the wet impregnation method with different metal loadings. The different meso-structures obtained were characterized by N2 adsorption, TPR and UVVIS-RD . These iron-containing mesostructured materials have been successfully tested for the heterogeneous photo-Fenton degradation of atrazine aqueous solutions using UV-visible irradiation at room temperature and close to neutral pH. Depending on the dispersion and size of the different iron species, the nanocomposites showed different catalytic behaviors. The results showed that the Fe/SBA-15(10) and Fe/KIT-6(5) catalysts exhibited the highest activities. Thus, the high performance of these materials indicates that the heterogeneous via of photo-Fenton process can also be efficiently employed to treat wastewaters containing pollutants such as herbicides, in order to reduce them to simpler and less toxic molecules.
