Abstract
La morfología y la composición química de los depósitos de cobre obtenidos por electrodeposición metálica
a partir de una solución sintética sobre sustratos de grafito se caracterizó mediante microanálisis con sonda
de electrones unido a un espectrómetro dispersivo en energías (EMPA-EDS). Estos resultados fueron
correlacionados con las condiciones de potencial aplicado durante la electrodeposición. Se trabajó a partir
de soluciones electrolíticas de nitrato de cobre 7,8 mM, a diferentes densidades de corriente 4,05 mA/cm2
-8,36 mA/cm2 (para 5V); 7,26 - 22,90 mA/cm2 (para 10V); 26,57- 35,33 mA/cm2 (para 15V); 45,16 - 55,23
mA/cm2 (para 20V). Del análisis de los datos se puede concluir que las formas predominantes a densidades
de corriente más bajas, son esferas, prismas, poliedros, algunas formas truncadas y sin una presencia
observable de aglomerados dendríticos. Por otro lado, a altas densidades de corriente es notable la
ausencia de las formas anteriores, apareciendo depósitos granulados muy pequeños y esparcidos por la
superficie del material. A pesar de las formas diferentes de los depósitos obtenidos, la composición, según el
análisis de EDS, corresponde para todas las muestras, a cobre de alta pureza
The morphology and chemical composition of the copper deposits obtained by electrodeposition of metal from a synthetic solution over graphite substrates were characterized by electron probe microanalysis joined to an energy dispersive spectrometer (EMPA-EDS). These results were correlated with the conditions of applied potential during electrodeposition. It worked from electrolyte solutions 7.8 mM copper nitrate at different current densities mA/cm2 4.05 - 8.36 mA/cm2 (for 5V), 7.26 to 22.90 mA/cm2 (for 10V), 26.57 to 35.33 mA/cm2 (for 15V), 45.16 to 55.23 mA/cm2 (for 20V). Data analysis can conclude that the predominant forms at lower current densities are spheres, prisms, polyhedrons, some truncated forms but there were not observable dendritic agglomerates. Furthermore, at high current densities is a notable absence of the above forms, granular appearing very small deposits scattered over the surface of the material. Despite different forms of deposits obtained, the composition according to EDS analysis, corresponds, for all the samples, at high purity copper.
