Abstract
Este artículo presenta resultados experimentales obtenidos en un modelo físico de
cimentación superficial apoyada sobre arena reforzada con geogrillas. El modelo físico, se desarrolló a
partir de un banco de ensayo en laboratorio sobre el que se implementaron las diferentes condiciones
de refuerzo. El banco de ensayo, constituido por una prensa de gran capacidad, incluyó un tanque
cilíndrico para la colocación de arena e instalación de geogrillas, una placa rígida circular como
cimentación superficial, y un sistema de adquisición de datos a partir de celdas de carga y comparadores
digitales para registrar asentamientos. Los parámetros investigados en este trabajo fueron: anclaje de la
capa de refuerzo, número de capas, distancia entre capas y tipo de geogrilla. Los resultados obtenidos
permitieron concluir sobre la variación en los asentamientos detectados con la inclusión del refuerzo
bajo las diferentes condiciones de análisis.
This paper presents the results of obtained in a physical model of superficial foundations supported on sand reinforced with geogrids. The physical model was developed from a laboratory test bench and the different reinforcement conditions were implemented. The test bench, constituted by a great capacity press, included a cylindrical tank for the placement of sand and installation of geogrids, a rigid circular plate as shallow foundation, a data acquisition system from load cells and comparators digital to register settlements. The parameters investigated in this work were: anchoring of the reinforcement layer, number of layers, distance between layers and type of geogrids. The results obtained let to conclude on the variation in the settlements detected with the inclusion of the reinforcement under the different conditions of analysis.
