Abstract
In the context of a research project whose objective is the quantification of the impact of forest fires on the infiltration capacity in basins of the province of Córdoba (Argentina), a measurement campaign was carried out in order to characterize experimentally this problem. The infiltration capacity was quantified in five experimental plots in pre-fire and post-fire conditions, with the same intensity of simulated rain. As an instrument, a rain simulator (developed by this work team) was used. The measurements were instrumented in electronic form. Additionally, a methodology was established and implemented for the measurement of the canopy interception capacity of the present species. In all cases, significant reductions in post-fire infiltration capacity were observed, of order, on average, of 30%. These results confirm the research hypothesis.
