Abstract
Molecular sieves of MCM-41 type were synthesized and modified with transition metals by direct method (1 step) and post-synthesis method. Their highly ordered structure was verified by XRD and N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms. Meanwhile, metal content was obtained by ICP. Then, Indomethacin was incorporated by impregnation to evaluate the adsorption and desorption capacity of the materials. In this way, the relationship between the synthesis method and the adsorbent properties was analyzed, resulting that the direct incorporation method is the most appropriate for this purpose. This fact is explained by the higher presence of silanol groups on the surface of these materials verified by the intense band at 3740 cm-1 observed in IR-TF spectra.
