Abstract
The bibliographical analysis performed on the curriculum for professional qualifications allowed us to discover that the use of the word “qualifications” in education has an ambiguous meaning and in spite of some constants, there is no a consensus about this word in the educational com- munity. As the word “qualifications” is introduced into the education field from the work world, accompanying the changes occurred in the productive system, the globalization, etc., when designing curriculum for professional qualifications, the university community has presented some resistance. For this reason, it is necessary to achieve terminological accuracy, clarifying ambiguities and critically assuming the definitions and their theoretical frames.
